"Environmental Management” is a global and multi-dimensional struggle due to its impacts and concerns future generations.

As an affiliated company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality ISTAÇ, has started many new implementation within the frame of national and international standards as of 1994. Its technical knowledge and experience and technological infrastructure it shares all its experiences with Turkey and Istanbul as priority.

Within the scope of waste management activities İSTAÇ carries out municipal and medical waste disposal, packaging waste recycling, construction and excavation wastes management, installation and operation of sanitary landfill areas , treatment of leachate, generating electricity from landfill gas, collecting and disposing wastes from vessels and sea surface, cleaning shores, main arterial roads, avenues and streets, streamside sludge scanning and refinement activities and producing compost from organic wastes and recycling activities.

ISTAÇ Co. is a Pioneer in sustainable development efforts with environmental awareness and model applications applied in our country and in all its activities it takes Integrated Solid Waste Management Strategic Plan compatible with EU Environmental Regulation as basis.

Within the scope of Environment Management Strategic plan prepared for Istanbul, National Regulations and EU Directives it states the targets in EU admission process. To fulfill these targets projects applied and to be applied are prepared and the matters taken into consideration according to priority are: (Reduction), (Re-Use), (Recycling), (Recovery) and disposal to minimize the negative impacts on human and environmental health at the final point.
